A new housing development at Charlton Hayes, Filton, Bristol is to get a health centre and doctor’s surgery alongside residential care facilities for elderly people following the sale of part of the development site from Bovis Homes to Grove Care.
CJH Land brokered the deal, which sees land earmarked for the care facilities pass into the ownership of Grove Care of Winterbourne, Bristol, who plan to build and operate a 50 bed care homeand 50 apartments for elderly people adjacent to a new doctor’s surgery. Matt Hiles, Director of CJH Land said: “This one acre site will form part of the neighbourhood centre known as Charlton Square and will now provide much-needed facilities for Charlton Hayes, which is being developed for about 2200 housing units and is proving very popular with new home owners.
“We acted for Bovis Homes in the sale of this parcel of land, who are building a range of homes in the area and the land sale will enable the care element to be created by specialists from Grove Care. It is important that as new home developments are created that the right provision is made for elderly people and that health facilities are put into place.”
Grove Care operate a number of nursing homes and provide specialist end of life and dementia care in the area as well as units where older people can live independently with help they need nearby.
CJH Land have also acted for Bovis Homes in the sale of 2 other tranches of land at Charlton Hayes which have been sold to other housing developers in the last couple of years. CJH Land are based in Flax Bourton, Bristol and specialise in the sale of residential and mixed use development land.
