The site extends to approximately 1.39 hectares (3.41 acres) and is accessed via Garsdale which runs along part of the site’s northern and eastern boundary.
There is pedestrian access to the town centre at the western boundary. The site slopes from South to North and is former industrial land. The surface consists of concrete hard standing, building foundations and made ground. To the north is a vacant area which is the subject of a planning application (No. 2013/2260/OTS) for a supermarket, non food retail and a hotel. To the south are existing residential properties and a small super market.

The site is located in the centre of the town and is approximately 100 metres to the east of Frome’s main retail centre which can be accessed on foot. Frome lies about 10 miles south of Bath & 5 miles west of Warminster.

Terramond have submitted an Outline Planning Application (No. 2014/1224/OTS) with Mendip District Council for the development of up to 60 residential dwellings. This application was registered on the 8th July 2014.
The land in the North Eastern corner of the site is the subject of a planning application (No. 2014/0937/FUL) by McCarthy and Stone which has just been refused. This is likely to be appealed in the near future.
